The Subordinate Conjunction

Some sentences are complex. Such sentences have two clauses: main (independent) clause and one subordinate (dependent) clause: 
A complex sentence uses a subordinate conjunction to link two or more clauses.
the following are subordinate conjunctions:

after rather than whenever

as so that whereas
